The Kettering Support Group(Now Sahyog) had its inception under the leadership of Dr Anup Pandey in mid-March 2020, a pivotal moment as the entire country, including the relatively small town of Kettering, teetered on the brink of impending chaos. With the gravity of the pandemic intensifying daily, people found themselves increasingly confined to their homes.
For most, home provided solace within the company of loved ones, fostering a sense of comfort during these trying times. However, not everyone enjoyed such privileges. Those living alone, grappling with estrangement, or lacking a dependable support network faced the health threat of COVID-19 and the haunting spectre of profound loneliness.
Fortunately, the Kettering Support Group emerged as a beacon of hope, dedicated to combating the isolation that gripped the community, just as firmly as the NHS was prepared to save lives. Upon learning about Dr. Pandey's remarkable community work, the decision was made to approach him with questions, delving into his experiences as the founder of the support group and as a dedicated community helper.
Thousands of leaflets were distributed in and around Kettering to raise awareness about the group.
