Our Mission

Our community group exists to create a supportive and inclusive place where people from every background can come together, find help when they need it, and stand together against discrimination.

We aim to empower individuals, strengthen social cohesion across our towns, and leave a lasting, positive mark on the community we serve.

Our Team

Sahyog is led by its founder, Dr Anup Pandey, and run by experienced professionals and community workers who give their time and skills to deliver dependable, high-quality support. Every member shares the same commitment: to treat people with dignity and to make a practical difference in their lives.

Our Founder

Dr Anup Pandey

Dr Anup Pandey is a community and political leader in North Northamptonshire and the founder of Sahyog. He has worked across Kettering, Wellingborough, Corby and Northampton since 2013 to bring people of different faiths and backgrounds together and to support integration and community cohesion.

In March 2020, at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, he founded the Kettering Support Group, which grew into Sahyog. He served as a councillor for St Peter's Ward on North Northamptonshire Council and Kettering Town Council from 2021 to 2025. He has been a Public Governor at Kettering General Hospital since 2021 and is a school governor at a local primary school.

His service to the community has been recognised with the Rose of Northamptonshire Award and by BBC Radio.

History

The Indian community has made a long and valued contribution to life in the United Kingdom, in business, public service, medicine, education and the voluntary sector. Sahyog grows out of that tradition of service.

The group began as the Kettering Support Group, founded under the leadership of Dr Anup Pandey in mid-March 2020. As the COVID-19 pandemic took hold, many people, especially those living alone or without family nearby, faced loneliness and isolation. Volunteers organised quickly to check in on residents, deliver essentials and make sure no one was left without support.

What started as an emergency response became a lasting network of neighbours looking out for one another. Under Dr Anup Pandey's leadership, the Kettering Support Group has since grown into Sahyog, a community interest company continuing that work: supporting wellbeing, celebrating festivals such as Navratri and Diwali together, building bridges between communities and promoting integration across North Northamptonshire.
